Anthracnose (Colletotrichum gleosporides)
Symptoms:
- Spot occur on juvenile as well as on mature leaves.
- These spots spread and coalesce to form large, dark brown to purple,linear to irregular areas, which often cover the entire leaf lamina.
- As the disease progresses, irregular spots develop on the leaves and the spots turn grey in the centre with a brown margin.
- Infected foliage becomes pale yellowish green and leathery and shows symptoms of chlorosis, which later turns necrotic during advanced stages.
- Severe infection results in premature defoliation.
Size:
Water-soaked, small, greyish brown spots.
Occurrence:
Maximum infection occur during October to January.
